A feel-good film about the incredible healing power of music!
Andrei Filipov had reached the pinnacle of his profession as the renowned conductor of the Bolshoi Orchestra but he was fired for using Jewish musicians. Thirty years later and now a janitor at the Bolshoi, he gets a chance for redemption as he attempts to reunite his players (a cast of colorful characters) to play one last grand performance.
Reviews:
"'The Concert' is a breakneck melodrama that milks laughs and wrings tears." -The Philadelphia Inquirer
"There are highs in 'The Concert' that few movies this year will touch. It begins strong. Within minutes, it gets the audience caring about the characters and anxious to know what happens next. And it ends in a place of transcendent emotion that sends everyone out of the theater in a swirl of transport." -San Francisco Chronicle
